Death
While serving as the Metropolitan of the Diocese of Canada and Europe, Mar Makarios would visit all the parishes of his diocese annually. It was during such a visit in England that he was critically injured in a traffic accident on January 5, 2008. His soul found eternal rest two months later on February 23, 2008.
